My Kind Of Russian Roulette

I’m still standing

We walked on water, you and me
We walked through fire, alive and free
And when the vultures hovered,
And rattlesnakes came out
We still stood our ground.

We broke out of prison,
It was us against the world.
And in your eyes I saw ambition,
While I dreamed in colour.
And when the thunder struck and shadows made their way,
Together we stayed.

But why did you leave early?
So suddenly you wrote down the ending, how?
After all we’d been through
I never imagined you walking out.

They think I’ll cry the moment I’m alone,
But my tears dried the second you left.
I feel like I’ve been struck by lightning,
And I can feel it in my veins.

Lovers leave you with pain but I don’t feel it.
Lovers can steal all you have but I never had much.
Lovers leave wasted on love but you were my better half.
And just like you left for nothing I want nothing back.
Watch me thrive, survive just like that.

We moved mountains, yes we
Swam against the rapids recklessly,
And when the earth shook,
And we were broke
We held on.

We were wanderers, all alone
We travelled for miles waiting for an open door.
Didn’t know where it went,
But we held on.

But I guess our time’s up,
Though I never heard the clock ticking,
And I heard our hearts beating
Feeling like no other heat could satisfy me.

I guess,
Maybe it wasn’t love,
Maybe you were a con
Or maybe you knew what it was,
And it was too much.

Lovers leave you with pain but I don’t feel it.
Lovers can steal all you have but I never had much.
Lovers leave wasted on love but you were my better half.
And just like you left for nothing I want nothing back.
Watch me thrive, survive just like that.

I’m still standing
All there is, is a corpse of our love.
I’m still standing.
